“Appointment with Heidi: * I scheduled this appointment believing I was establishing care with a new therapist at this practice. * My understanding was that this would be a therapy intake where we would begin building a therapeutic relationship. * Instead, the appointment primarily consisted of searching an online therapist directory for other providers. * Left without understanding why I was not being seen by this therapist or referred to another therapist within the same practice. * Left confused because the practice has multiple therapists, yet no explanation was provided as to why none of them were discussed as potential options. * Believed I was scheduling ongoing therapy, not an appointment to search online for outside providers. * Had the purpose of the appointment been communicated beforehand, I would have made a different decision about scheduling. I absolutely could’ve Googled and found other providers for myself.”
